Pizza Delivery Driver Stabs Customer Over Tip, Cops Say
A Domino’s driver in Covina, CA, was arguing with a customer over an order that was about 90 minutes late.
Officials said that on Saturday around 11:35 p.m. police were dispatched to a home in the 600 block of N. Mangrove to investigate a stabbing.
A Domino’s delivery man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed a customer after a fight over a late delivery.
Upon his arrival, an altercation ensued over the delayed delivery.
Police say that’s when Parker stabbed the victim, who was sent to a trauma center. He was treated at the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Sgt. Gregg Peterson said investigators located 31-year-old Michael Charles Parker at a Domino’s Pizza restaurant and took him into custody. Police arrested the delivery driver at around 1 a.m. He was arrested on one count of assault with a deadly weapon, held on bail of $30,000, which he posted.
While his wounds were serious, officers said they were not life-threatening.
“It appears that the suspect wasn’t happy with the tip that was left”, a Covina police official told ABC Los Angeles (via LA Weekly). He was released, pending his arraignment on March 21. An unidentified person answering the phone at the Domino’s Pizza in Covina, about half a mile from the site of the stabbing, said the shop had no comment.
