Ted Cruz immigration ad features suits crossing the border
The ad doesn’t have a wide buy in Iowa or New Hampshire, but the Santorum campaign did share it through its social media network.
Starting this week, “you’re going to see sharper elbows”, Jon Seaton, a Republican strategist who is not affiliated with a campaign told the Times. It will also signal Cruz is not taking his lead for granted in Iowa, where polling shows he has eclipsed billionaire Donald Trump as the top candidate in recent weeks. The spot is set to launch Monday as part of a series that will air in the final month before the Iowa caucuses.
On that same New Year’s Eve conference call to supporters, Cruz made a prediction that he could win the GOP nomination in the next 90 days. More recently, Trump has taken to calling Cruz a copycat on the issue, a claim the Texas senator refused to directly address with reporters while campaigning Monday in Iowa.
U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) launched his “Cruzin to Caucus” bus tour in Boone, IA. “I think the question is, “Can he hold on for that period of time or does he ebb?'”
Trump continued: “Ted Cruz is trying to step up his whole game on amnesty and on illegal immigration, because it was actually quite weak”.
Behn is the Iowa State Senator from the 24th District and minority leader in the Iowa Senate. He was trailing real estate mogul Donald Trump, who had 38.6 percent.
The ad suggests he’s making a serious play in the state. I was watching Ted talk, and he said, ‘We will build a wall.’ The first time I’ve ever heard him say it … I’m here asking for your support.
Cruz was accompanied at all the stops by Rep. Steve King, the arch conservative congressman who represents much of western Iowa and who has formally endorsed Cruz last month.
“Well, first of all, his plan just happened, OK?”
