Lanka & Pakistan to include services in trade pact

“We have also signed a number of Agreements and MoUs today, which would help promote cooperation between our two countries in the fields Trade promotion, Culture, Health, Gem and Jewellery, Science & Technology and Combating Money Laundering and Terror Financing”, Sharif said at the official ceremony to welcome him by Sirisena. Two children clad in traditional dresses presented bouquets to Mr Sharif and Begum Kalsoom. The visiting Prime Minister will be accorded a ceremonial welcome including a Gun Salute and Guard of honour.
Later during his trip, PM Nawaz will deliver a special lecture to parliamentarians, ministers and members of diplomatic corps on the invitation of the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies. He said that his visit was reflective of close relationship between the two sides. He will pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic, and will also visit a Muslim Mosque and the Jinnah Centre in Kandy. Their diplomatic relations were established in 1948.
