LG’s new 2016 4K OLED TVs tease a ‘superior’ HDR experience
South Korean tech giant LG at the Consumer Electronics Show 2016 unveiled a prototype 18-inch flexible display that can be rolled up like a newspaper. The new ColorPrime Pro technology is going to allow for a wider colour gamut to be displayed on these new panels, offering around 99% of the Digital Cinema Initiative’s (DCI) colour standard. There are also some interesting commercial uses for such a display – it can be used for signage and, once again, be carried around quite easily from one place to another. The OLED 4K TVs LG displayed on Tuesday came fixed to the audio bar built in below.
In addition to that, the 65B6 has LG’s ColorPrime Plus technology that display 1.07 billion colors (can you even imagine that many colors?).
They have been looking at what they can expect during the keynote later today based on rumors and also hints from Panasonic over the past few months, and it’s no surprise that they want to showcase more OLED TV models. The paper thin displays do not include circuits.

LG also announced a 25-inch curved LCD panel that is meant for use in cars interiors and a 10.3-inch “Advanced In-Cell Touch” LCD for drivers, who can use the same with their driving gloves on. The VTO display can show different video images on each side as well.
The foldable display will sit in LG’s private showroom, which will be divided into sections devoted to OLED and LCD display products. LG also has a “paper thin” 55-inch TV to showcase, which houses its key electronic components in a separate body, along with the LG Gram, the world’s lightest 15-inch laptop.
LG plans to start rolling out the Signature series sometime after CES 2016, which runs from January 6-9, 2016.
