LSU football player stabbed during bar fight
While Baton Rouge police have not officially identified Gordon as the victim, sources confirmed it was the LSU tight end who was stabbed.
When asked about what he tells players about going to bars, Miles said “I’m cutting it off. It’s just not worth it”. “You don’t have to go to a fight night bar”.
Gordon was hospitalized in stable condition after the incident and released later in the day on Tuesday. Gordon later said on his Twitter account that he was fine.
The Gordon stabbing appears to have been the final straw for Miles. Fortunately, the injuries Dillon sustained were not life threatening, and from all indications, he will make a full recovery.
Head coach Les Miles of the LSU Tigers leaves the field following warm ups. The suspect’s information and motive is unclear at this time. “We are thankful that Dillon is okay”.
According to NOLA, Miles knew of one other player at the bar at the time but didn’t think that player had any involvement. “The victim was treated for stab wounds as a result of the incident”.
Gordon has started since 2013, but missed the last six games of this season because of a ruptured Achilles tendon. He injured his Achilles heel during the Tigers’ game against Florida. LSU is requesting that the NCAA grant Gordon a fifth season of eligibility as a medical redshirt.
