Jaguar F-Type British Design Edition makes its debut
The new supercharged V6-powered special will make its way to Australia in the second quarter of 2016, with a starting price of $166,650 plus on-road costs.
No limit will be put on production numbers of the F-Type British Design Edition, and the model is available internationally.
Alongside the louder colours, the British Design Edition of the F-Type cars will also feature special badging on the front and rear of the exterior whilst inside you get specially engraved treadplates, embossed headrests and a carbon fibre centre console.
The special edition features Jaguar’s Exterior Sport Design Pack, which adds extended front bumper aerodynamic splitters, side sills and rear bumper venturi.
Ian Callum, director of design, Jaguar, said: “The F-TYPE is a sports vehicle that excites the senses, with a visual drama that is both individual and very British”. As a concession to those not feeling their United Kingdom heritage, Ultimate Black is available as a fourth color option.
The Jaguar F-TYPE British Design comes with the 3.0 litre V6 S engine delivering 375bhp, eight-speed Quickshift gearbox and all-wheel drive. “Creating the British Design Edition gave us the opportunity to subtly enhance the way the F-TYPE looks – inside and out”. Jaguar Super Performance brakes provide stopping power, finished with red-painted calipers. In place of the red and green of the S roundel, the British Design Edition features Union Jack detailing in subtle monochrome. Gizmag drove the excellent F-Type R edition earlier this year. The texture and satin finish of this material complements the premium Jet leather interior perfectly.
Customers will also have at their disposal the InControl Touch infotainment system with an upgraded 380W Meridian, 10 speakers, audio system, or as an option, the InControl Touch Plus with the 770W of Meridian surround sound through 12 speakers.
Jaguar says that thanks to some repackaging of the cargo area all 2017 model year convertibles come with an additional 8 litres of space over the outgoing model.
Orders are now being accepted in the United Kingdom with deliveries slates to begin in the Spring.
