Dakota Meyer Seeks Joint Custody of Bristol Palin’s Baby

Update 1/6 9:10 a.m.: Dakota Meyer has filed for joint custody of baby Sailor, TMZ reports.

Bristol Palin announced the birth of her second child, daughter Sailor Grace, last month on Instagram, having documented her pregnancy at length with bump photos and blog posts, even after describing it at first as “a huge disappointment.”

Bristol’s representative David Martin told Entertainment Tonight it remains “unclear where Meyer received the photo he posted”. “I couldn’t be more proud of this little blessing”.

Palin, a former contestant on Dancing With the Stars, is the daughter of former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

“For many months we have been trying to reach out to Dakota Myers [sic] and he has wanted nothing to do with either Bristol’s pregnancy or the baby”, Palin said.

In case you forgot, the 25-year-old never actually confirmed the identity of the baby’s father – though all signs pointed to her most recent ex!

However one week before the wedding was set to take place, it was called off, but in June she announced she was expecting.

She concluded that Meyer is just trying to “save face” with this legal maneuver. She did not mention the father. He also got a dig in on the former Marine, saying on Bristol’s behalf, “My values are such that a real American hero doesn’t ask for child support”. She knows everyone is assuming, and maybe she’s hoping that people should put 2 and 2 together, which would mean she shouldn’t have to say who the father is.

Dakota has also claimed that he wants the judge to award him joint legal and physical custody.

Bristol is also the mother of 6-year-old Tripp, whom she had as a teen with high school sweetheart Levi Johnston.
