Eagles want second interview with Adam Gase
Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase appears to have impressed the Eagles in his initial interview Tuesday for their head coaching vacancy.
Whilst he left without a contract to continue his scheduled tour of interviews, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport has claimed that he will return to Philadelphia for a second interview.
Gase was the third candidate the Eagles have interviewed for the opening and the first candidate who was not already in the building. With Denver in 2013, his first year as the offensive coordinator after working as the quarterbacks coach, he helped create the most prolific offense in the histroy of the NFL.
They tried to interview Gase in 2014 before he removed himself from consideration to focus on a Super Bowl run with the Denver Broncos. The Miami Dolphins are set to make their pitch to him Thursday, and the New York Giants have requested an interview, too, per reports.
“He’s going to be good”, Bears quarterback Cutler said of Gase’s head coaching potential.
The Eagles have hired one minority head coach in franchise history, Ray Rhodes, who became the fourth African American head coach in National Football League history when he took the job in 1995.
