Oklahoma delegation criticizes Obama for gun control actions
In front of dozens of people who have survived and lost loves ones to gun violence, Obama unveiled several executive actions to tighten how guns are bought and sold in the U-S.
Obama said that not all crimes can be stopped by some can be prevented and one must do so. In reaction to the president’s executive orders, he says it’s momentum he’s waited for as bills have continually stalled in congress.
President Obama’s new executive orders on gun control laid out Tuesday largely target background checks.
“The gun lobby may be holding Congress hostage right now, but they can’t hold America hostage”, Obama said.
But Ryan suggested existing law already requires those buying and selling guns to have a federal firearms license. “But I just feel like our rights are being taken away from us as we go”, said resident Scott Swindoll. “So we have a different problem”.
“Generally I’m not for a whole lot more gun control, but if it’s things that close loopholes, I’m fine with it”, Egan said.
US lawmakers from the state of Arizona seek to undermine President Barack Obama’s recent measures to implement gun reforms.
“I don’t care what law you pass, it’s not going to stop a criminal”, said David Hancock, a gun dealer in Chesterfield County.
The President also plans to improve the nation’s mental health systems.
Large numbers of eagle-eyed tear-sceptics have been noting that, shortly before he started crying, Obama touched his face – evidence, they believe, that he put something underneath his eyes that drove him to tears.
The best way to keep guns out of risky hands, they say, is by closing this loophole. “He needs to go through Congress, Congress is the one who makes the laws”.
WSLS did reach out to the company hosting the gun show at the Civic Center on the 17th, C&E Gun Shows, but they declined to comment.
“I can say with absolute certainty what he’s talking about will have no effect on those shootings”, said local Second Amendment attorney Guy Relford.
Langton added that there is also a money issue involved in the proposed changes and that the money would have to come from Congress.
