Justin Bieber has finally tackled the rumours that he dated Kourtney Kardashian, joking that he was “being used” by the reality TV star.

Gomez’s reaction is understandable for an artist looking to be taken seriously, rather than pegged to a relationship with one of the world’s largest pop stars.

Selena Gomez will be waking to thousands of Twitter notifications as her fans rallied to support her after ex Justin Bieber apparently confirmed a new relationship. “I was just figuring out what I wanted to say”. “I respect him. And I think he respects me, in a healthy manner”.

When further pressed about whether Bieber’s private performance made it all the more hard for Gomez to attend the AMAs she said, “Not at all”.

The pair were recently the subject of reports that the What Do You Mean singer had serenaded her in a hotel, sparking rumours that a reconciliation might be on the cards.

Regardless of whom Bieber is romantically involved with, people will always speculate whether his longtime love Selena Gomez is still in the picture.

When asked whether it made going on the American Music Awards any harder, she replied it didn’t. She’s modeled for brands like Brandi Melville and Topshop and has over 3 million Instagram followers (which admittedly, isn’t close to Bieber’s 52.2 million, but it’s still impressive).

Gomez noted that although the interest about her love-life can be hard at times, she does not let it get in the way of her happiness. She added that nothing is going to dictate how she feels unless she allows it.

The full interview will be released on Wednesday but it’s already out of date when it comes to who Bieber might be romancing. The former released his fourth studio album titled “Purpose” on November 13, 2015 while the latter released her second studio album titled “Revival” on October 9, 2015.
