Windies 330 all out in rain-hit Sydney Test
The third Test between Australia and West Indies is heading for a draw after another washout on day four in Sydney.
Umpires were forced to abandon the third day without a ball being bowled after persistent rain prevented the players from taking to the field.
The rain-hit Test joins Australia s matches against South Africa at the Gabba in Brisbane in 1931-32, India at the SCG 1947-48, England at the SCG in 1954-55 and Pakistan at the SCG 1989-90.
Their decision to bat on this morning, after two full days and almost two sessions were lost to rain, was a pointed tactical move.
There hasn’t been any play in the match since 1.42pm on day two.
Denesh Ramdin secured a half century for a second successive test before falling for 62 to a sharp catch from Australia skipper Steve Smith in the slips off the bowling of spinner Steve O’Keefe. West Indies managed to reach 248 for 7 in 86.2 Overs and it seems highly unlikely that they will be able to add further runs on the final day of the Test as rain might yet again play spoilsport.
Australia hold an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-Test series, having retained the Frank Worrell trophy in Melbourne.
