WWE star John Cena injured, could miss WrestleMania 32
Having just returned after a two-month break from the WWE, John Cena has reportedly suffered a significant shoulder injury that will require immediate surgery, thus making him unavailable to work Wrestlemania 32, according to PWInsider (viaCageside Seats).
John Cena has revealed that he will be undergoing shoulder surgery on Thursday.
With the surgery scheduled for tomorrow, Cena will possibly not be seen on WWE television for an extended period of time. This, of course, would rule him out for WrestleMania and threatens the rumored money main event of Cena vs. Undertaker. Regardless of who he was going to square off against in March, Cena was going to appear on all the morning shows and represent the company in all of the most important moments. Be that as it may, the WWE is looking at trying to get 100,000 people into an arena with no Cena, Orton or Rollins, among other names.
Cena has dealt with injuries before, but he still competed in 12 consecutive WrestleManias, dating back to 2004.
Cena would still be able to do media appearances for WWE, but without a marquee match of his own to promote, he will fail to make the same impact he would have if he were wrestling. If this ends up being rotator cuff surgery, as is being speculated, average recovery time is six months or longer.
