Samsung updates smart TV user experience
With an outdoor camera linked to a Samsung Smart TV, the homeowner can check whether visitors arrive and open the front door without leaving his or her sofa.
Samsung boasts more than 200 smart devices in its SmartThings connected-device ecosystem – and it wants consumers to take control of every one of them right from a smart TV.
But with the announcement of the new Smart Control remote, the grand scope of Samsung’s Smart TV experience is beginning to come into focus.
Now it seems that even the company’s Smart Control remotes are getting smarter.
While such abilities have existed in other products such as Logitech’s Harmony series of Universal remotes, Samsung’s system should provide a more seamless experience with their more pervasive SmartThings integration.
At CES 2016, Samsung will showcase the future of TV and demonstrate how Samsung’s Smart TVs are at the center of the expanding IoT ecosystem.
This turns Samsung’s Smart Control into a direct competitor to Logitech’s Harmony Remotes. The new version of the software is also created to make things easier for Smart TV users.
The new Smart Hub interface represents a shift away from multiple content sources and devices, to one integrated content and services platform.
Through this advanced technology, consumers can easily access what they really want in an easier, faster and more effective way. Consumers can now switch seamlessly between linear content, OTT content as well as other connected devices, and this includes video game consoles or Blu-ray players.
This year is no exception, as Samsung kicked off the event with a fridge featuring cameras and a huge display that spares its user the hassle of opening its door to check in.
This kind of clicker will definitely make people’s life easier, because they will not be forced to use three or four remotes at the same time. As for the remote, Samsung has declared that it can automatically recognize each connect device. If you haven’t gotten yourself a modern Samsung Smart TV, what are you waiting for?
