Brady good to go in playoff opener with ankle sprain
The Patriots appeared they had returned to the team they were to start the season.
Sentinel and Enterprise staff photos can be ordered by visiting our SmugMug site. Brady had his legs rolled up on and he bent backwards over Suh’s body. He was sacked twice and endured at least half a dozen knockdowns, including three on one series.
Brady said after the game that he felt, “pretty sore, but I’ll be alright”. He looks like he’s primed to be the team’s top power runner in the playoffs. Their last shot at the No. 1 seed hinged on Denver losing its regular-season finale to San Diego.
“We’re just kind of getting through finishing up the Miami game”, head coach Bill Belichick said on Monday.
For New England, the loss was somewhat significant. I mean, whatever it is, it is and wherever we play, we play. During Super Bowl XXXVI, against the St. Louis Rams, Brady endured through a sprained ankle and led the Patriots to the championship.
When asked about Parker after the game Tannehill said, “He’s got a really bright future, I’m super excited about the future he’s going to have”.
-RUSHING OFFENSE: D. The Patriots gave every opportunity for the rushing attack to carry the load, but the combination of Steven Jackson and Brandon Bolden wasn’t able to get much done against Miami’s 30th-ranked run defense. Where the Patriots have been hit the hardest from injury is offensive line, and to many, a Brady injury was just waiting to happen after Nate Solder and Eric Wendell were placed on season-ending IR, and the rest of the makeshift O-line have seen time on the bench as well. “That was across the board”.
Patriots’ WR Julian Edelman and OT Sebastian Volmer both on track to return in time for NE’s Divisional Playoff game, per sources. He took a big hit from Dolphins defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh early in the second quarter. I wouldn’t say that that has no value. “I’ll be anxious to see it”.
The Miami Dolphins faced the New England Patriots with nothing to play for. He touched the ball on five of New England’s first six offensive plays, but he picked up only one first down on those plays.
DeVante Parker won a jump-ball battle for a long pass to make a 46-yard catch, setting up the touchdown that put Miami ahead to stay with seven minutes left. This was the 64th consecutive start for Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill…. Focusing on the second halves of seasons during the Brady era, the current Pats also ranked worst in completion percentage (59.5), rushing attempts (192) and rushing yards (646), plus second-worst in sacks allowed (20), yards per rush attempt (3.36) and rushing touchdowns (5).
