Autonomous car breakthroughs featured at CES gadget show
The FFZERO1 is not intended for the mass market, but rather to show off technologies which the company intends to integrate into future vehicles.
So, a lot of maybes and ifs and soons for Faraday Future. The company has underpinned the concept through its Variable Platform Architecture (VPA) and has the batteries positioned at the center in modular strings. Chinese-backed Faraday Future, also known as FF, made its public debut at a pre-CES event late Monday in Las Vegas.
Watch out, Tesla. A fellow Californian company has revealed the FFZERO1, an all-electric concept that promises insane performance and futuristic looks.
The FFZERO1 caused quite a stir at the tech expo, with a claimed horsepower of 1,000, the ability to reach 60mph in less than three seconds, and augmented reality capabilities. The Future is a fully-connected auto featuring intuitive UI for integration between virtual and head-up displays to help drivers stay focused on the task at hand.
However, before you get to excited, we have to remind you that the Faraday Future FFZERO1 concept is not going to enter production, but gives you an idea of what the final production model could be like.
Over the past couple of years, there has been an ever-increasing demand for cars that run on gasoline alternatives, whether these are hybrids, electric cars, or even cars that run on fuels such as kerosene or ethanol.
Richard Kim, Faraday’s head of global design, called the vehicle a “high-performance electric dream car” created to “fight ugliness”.
People look over the Faraday Future FFZERO1 electric concept vehicle after an unveiling at a news conference.
He explained this meant it would use the same basic underlying structure on all of the company’s vehicles, adapting it to include anywhere from one to four motors, battery packs of various sizes, different types of wheelbases and other optional parts.
Sampson said Faraday intends to move “very fast” on its plans and has already announced a US$1 billion (RM4.3 billion) factory to be built near Las Vegas.
