Razer Blade Stealth Ultrabook, Razer Core Launched at CES 2016

This enclosure includes an internal 500W PSU in order to accommodate a dual-slot PCI Express graphics card-not included, of course-with up to 375W of power draw, or “virtually every popular desktop graphics card from AMD and Nvidia”, according to Razer.

Razer’s meteoric rise from being a PC peripheral maker to also being one of the most envied laptop makers in the world has been nothing short of insane. As such, it came up with the Razer Blade Stealth, and this ultrabook gaming laptop which fans have been clamouring for has now become a reality. The new Razer Blade Stealth looks notable and touts a ton of nifty specs and features for gamers. Like Apple’s MacBook, it charges via USB Type-C, and the Thunderbolt 3 connector provides fast data transfer.

What makes the Blade Stealth really sweet for on-the-go gamers is that it’s less than an inch thin, just 0.52 inches and weighs 2.75 pounds. Razer is selling the Razer Blade Stealth through its online and physical stores (and soon via Microsoft Store) for $999 at base configuration, significantly lower than competing machines running a Core i7. Obviously, you’ll be able to upgrade your graphics card as often as you’d like. Heck, if you have a 4K monitor, you could invest in a high-end graphics card and use the laptop as a desktop replacement at home while still toting it around like an ordinary Ultrabook. “For the first time ever, there is no need for two separate systems”.

Also, due to it being powered by Windows 10, the switch between the built-in graphics and the Razer Core external enclosure would be seamless. Millions of color options for the keyboard are available thanks to Razer’s Chroma technology. I’m not sure how that will go-how many folks think “work laptop” or “definitely a laptop for my college student” when Razer comes to mind?-but I for one want a Razer Blade Stealth. As for the Razer Core, it has no price although it is expected this year.
