TV reporter stabbed while demonstrating stab-proof vest
As part of an educational report covering the knife-proof vest manufacturing process, journalist Eitam Lachover agreed to get stabbed on camera.
He then holds the reporter down and proceeds to stab him in the back – but unfortunately the third strike of the knife tore the jacket, wounding Mr Lachover.
“We will demonstrate a stabbing on you”.
He can then be seen stabbing Mr Lachover several times with a steel commando knife, which he explains is used by military all around the world.
Yaniv Montakyo, a vice president of the company that makes the vest, told Israel’s Channel 2 that he had stabbed Mr Lachover in a section of the vest where there had been no protective material.
“This product can protect from knives that are stronger than this one, may I? If something happens, I’m here”.
The executive shouted that he “missed” before helping the injured reporter out of the garment as footage quickly cut back to the television studio.
Despite the unfortunate incident an earlier take that had been successful was broadcast.
Highly embarrassed, the company representatives rendered immediate medical treatment before transferring Lachover for medical treatment at a hospital, where a surgeon stitched up the wound. Meanwhile, at least 132 Palestinians have been killed in the same period, of whom 91 were alleged assailants.
