Here’s What The New LG Super UHD TV Series Has To Offer
All seven the company’s new 4K Ultra HD Smart TVs for 2016 will include support for high dynamic range (HDR).
The new TVs are said to bring all the usual advancements, like a wider color gamut, brighter highlights up to 1,000 nits, a deeper contrast ratio and a new 4K upscaling engine known as 4K Creative Pro. This player is also HDR-compatible, so users can have an even bigger selection of 4K content to enjoy.
“The combination of LG’s OLED screens and Dolby Vision enables Netflix to deliver the most exciting and visually stunning experience possible in homes today”, said Neil Hunt, Chief Product Officer, Netflix.
In March of previous year we noted that many people were avoiding buying an Ultra-HD/4K TV, since the standards supporting the entire ecosystem were a terrible mess. The situation may improve, but not earlier than 2018, when is scheduled for LG to commission a new plant created to produce OLED screens. LG UH9500 sports an ultra-thin design as the company reduced the gaps between the display panel and the back cover. The on-board speakers were designed in coordination with Harman/Kardon which is promising considering its sound quality. The company has also upgraded its existing Magic Sound Tuning function to deliver an enhanced audio experience from the new range.
Similar to the UH9500 and UH9550 in features, the UH8500 and UH8550 also offer ColorPrime Plus, Billion Rich Colors, ULTRA Luminance and Contrast Maximizer in a slightly different design configuration. These TVs will come in screen sizes of 43 inches, 50 inches, 55 inches, and 65 inches, though they’ll lack the HDR and quantum dot tech of TCL’s other sets. Other image processing technologies used in the two TVs include BT.2020 and ColorPrime Plus.
Roku is continuing its march towards bringing the world of 4K streaming content into our homes with the announcement of new Roku TV models that support the sharper format.
Philips may not get the most attention when it comes to TVs, but that doesn’t mean the company isn’t capable of cranking out a solid line of products.
Like the recently announced Roku 4 streaming player, the TCL 4K UHD Roku TV models will combine simple navigation and content discovery with one of the largest lineups of 4K UHD streaming channels available on a smart TV.
