Snyder declares emergency in Flint over water problems
The financially strapped city was under the control of a state-appointed emergency manager when it switched its source of tap water to the nearby Flint River in April 2014 from Detroit’s water system to save money.
Last year, Flint stopped using water from Lake Huron and started taking water from the Flint river which is more polluted. Since then, many residents have complained of high lead levels in the water. “They are criminals. Governor Rick Snyder of MI #firingsquadworksforme”. This, he said, “has either caused or threatened to cause elevated blood lead levels, especially in the population of children and pregnant women,”creating ” a potential immediate threat to public health and safety”.
