Vin Diesel Fights Tears, Sings Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” At People’s
Wednesday. night, after actor Paul Walker’s last film, “Furious 7”, scored two People’s Selection awards (Favourite Action Movie & Favourite Film), his co star & acceptable friend, Vin Diesel accepted the awards & paid tribute to the late Walker & all the people behind the “Fast and Furious” collection.
Walker died in a 2013 vehicle wreck during a break from shooting the movie, which was eventually finished and which went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of 2015.
Twitter exploded with reactions to Diesel’s emotional singing. “You all thought this was your favorite film”, Vin said onstage, holding out two trophies. I think of Dom and Brian and I start to think of Paul. “Furious 7”, which won Favorite Movie, took down “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, “Inside Out”, “Jurassic World” and “Pitch Perfect 2”. He called his work on “Furious 7” a labor of love, detailing the struggle he and his co-workers encountered when trying to return to work after Walker’s fatal accident.
“They said to make this short and sweet, so, I will try to make this short and sweet”. “You would be amazed with what you can do with love”.
He continued: “It’s real people voting for these awards, not academies, real fans, and that means so much to me”. You’d be amazed how powerful a force that is.
“When we didn’t want to come back to filming when the tragedy was too heavy, it was the love of everyone combined that saw us through to the end”, he told the crowd in Los Angeles.
