No Powerball grand prize winners
Powerball has announced there were no winning jackpot tickets sold for its $500 million drawing on Wednesday.
The winning white balls were 02-11-47-62-63, with a Powerball of 17 and a Power Play of 3.
Wednesday night’s jackpot actually started at $40 million on November 7th and is the result of 17 drawings with no jackpot victor. The cash payout is $413.1 million. The jackpot was the sixth highest amount it has ever been in North America, as well as the highest it has been in nearly a year.
The Powerball is played in 44 states across the county including Idaho but our neighbors to the south, Utah, don’t have the Powerball so many people make the trip across the border from the Beehive State to Malad to buy their tickets. That was a $656 million Mega Millions jackpot won in March 2012.
According to the Texas lottery executive director, this is the 6th largest jackpot in USA history and the 4th largest Powerball jackpot, Big Country residents were taking their chances.
If no one wins tonight, the jackpot will move closer to one billion dollars for the next drawing on Saturday night.
Many customers already had an idea what they would do with the money if they won.
Jackpot winners who choose the 30-year annuity will get one payment per year for 30 years – the first payment is issued shortly after your winning ticket is verified. Joining with colleagues and friends can increase the fun of playing, but the odds of winning are so tiny that adding 50 or 100 chances doesn’t matter much.
