Deadly quake shakes area of India
Several buildings in Manipur secretariat and the landmark Ima market in Imphal had developed cracks while some school structures collapsed.
The quake, which took place about 55 kilometers (about 34 miles) underground, originally was reported as 6.8-magnitude but that was later revised to 6.7 magnitude, USGS said.
Vehicular movement was normal in the state capital.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team from Guwahati, which was engaged in rescue in Tamenglong district and Imphal besides other parts of state, was clearing debris and searching if anyone was still trapped, officials said.

As well as five deaths from heart attacks, another 90 people have been injured in Bangladesh.
To assess the safety of partially damaged public buildings and advise the state government on issues related to fix and retrofitting of these structres, the National Disaster Management Authority is deploying a team of experts. Most offices and educational institutions in the state capital Imphal remained closed.
Quake in Manipur: Power supply to Imphal city has been disrupted and some power installations have suffered damage, an official statement said after Cabinet Secretary P K Sinha held a meeting of the National Crisis Management Committee (NCMC) this morning.
A 3.6-magnitude aftershock occurred about 9:27 a.m., local time, followed by a 3.4-magnitude aftershock at about 2:30 p.m., AIR said.
BBC News noted on Monday that the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, tweeted after the incident announcing that he and the chief ministers of the region, together with federal Home Minister Rajnath Singh, have already spoken “on the situation arising in the wake of the natural disaster. I appeal to people not to believe in them”, he told reporters. Singh said he has spoken to Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju, who will reach Imphal from Arunachal Pradesh to monitor the situation.
Another team of NDRF is on standby at Silchar. A three-member team from Power Grid Corporation is in Manipur to assist in restoring power supply.
