Holly Holm vs. Ronda Rousey 2: Dana White Reveals Surprising New Development

On Tuesday, White changed course and said Holm will now defend her throne against a yet-to-be determined opponent before facing Rousey. And apparently White feels he should respect her wishes, because on Wednesday he went on Fox Sports 1′s UFC Tonight and announced that Holm would fight somebody between now and the Rousey rematch. Holm has previously expressed her desire to square off against Tate and believes that the 29-year-old deserves a title shot.

Holy Holm isn’t willing to sit around and wait for Ronda Rousey’s return, and it doesn’t seem like she will have to.

As for Rousey, the fact Holm will fight another opponent doesn’t mean the ex-champ will not compete again. “I haven’t had one business conversation with her since her fight”.

That’s when she’ll once again appear in the magazine’s annual Swimsuit Issue, only this time, she’ll be wearing little more than bodypaint.

Rousey joins a long, respectable line of athletes who have hosted SNL, and her appearance is a significant accomplishment.

White and Fertitta won’t lose their promoter’s license, but having gone through a recent renegotiation of Holm’s contract, extending it for multiple fights, they acquiesced. By knocking out the the most transcendent figure in MMA, and arguably one of the biggest names in all of sport she stepped up to that level, however. Her manager Lenny Fresquez claimed that the UFC already has a plan for Holm’s next fights. It’s believed the MMA fighter has gone into hiding after she was brutally beaten by the Australian fighter during their fight in November.

Ronda Rousey will host the January 23 episode of “Saturday Night Live” with musical guest Selena Gomez.
