Seattle’s Marshawn Lynch “full go” returning to practice
He also confirmed that running back Marshawn Lynch will play, which had seemed increasingly likely throughout the week. Lynch took the field with a candy cane protruding from his mouth. If Lynch is able to produce the way he has in the past and things stay hot through the air, Seattle’s going to be tough for Minnesota and everyone else in the NFC to slow down in the postseason.
Yes, Lynch is back and readying to start Sunday. Peterson was pulled out of last week’s game against Green Bay, but returned later in the game.
“If he’s going, that’s what I would expect”, said offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell following practice. As Bevell mentioned, the predicted near-zero-degree temperatures in Minneapolis on Sunday would be conducive to running the ball a lot.
“If he’s going, that’s what I would expect”.
Lynch was at least partially joined in practice Wednesday by fellow 2015 Pro Bowler Kam Chancellor, left tackle Russell Okung, right guard J.R. Sweezy, tight end Luke Willson and cornerback Jeremy Lane. Chancellor was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, while Sweezy, Okung and Willson were all limited.
“He’s been fantastic, doing exactly what we said”, said assistant head coach/offensive line Tom Cable. One went from practicing Wednesday to not practicing today.
The practice report from the Seahawks had a new injury: rookie Tyler Lockett did not participate because of an unspecified hip ailment. He has missed Wednesday and Thursday practices the last few weeks and has played on Sundays. He has played in every game the past two seasons. That covers Seattle’s Super Bowl title for the 2013 season and Super Bowl loss previous year. We’re looking forward to having him. “We’re excited about that”, said Jackson, Lynch’s best pal in the league from their days together in Buffalo until 2010. He’s a tremendous guy to have in the locker room. “I’d expect him to be full-go, full speed and just do like we normally do”.
After missing just one game in his first five seasons with Seattle, Lynch, known as “Beast Mode” for his hard-running style, has played in just seven games this season.
Lynch hasn’t played since undergoing sports hernia surgery on November 25.
“It’s easy to say for me, but I really feel like when there’s no egos involved and nobody cares who gets the credit, then you’re able to do great things”. “Barr is really their leader there in the linebacking corps, so you miss guys like those guys it has an impact on their defense”.
