Craig Strickland’s widow shares beautiful letter from her late husband
A memorial service for Craig Strickland will be held at Cross Church in Rogers next Tuesday.
“God really gave us an opportunity to be happier than we’d ever been”, Helen Strickland told CNN’s Brooke Baldwin on Thursday.
Helen Strickland shared details of her late husband’s upcoming memorial on Instagram yesterday. He and close friend, Chase Morland, had gone hunting in Northern Oklahoma in the middle of a storm and were reported missing in late December. “I am so proud of you and the impact you have had on this world”, she posted to Instagram.
In fact, they’ve added another date to their current USA tour, writing on Facebook, “Due to the overwhelming support and sold out show on Jan 16th, we have scheduled another show on Jan 17th in honor of Craig Strickland at George’s Majestic Lounge (in Arkansas)…”
“I wouldn’t change anything about that”, Helen Strickland said, before sharing how she and Craig’s family are getting through this frightful time together.
The boat that the pair were using was found capsized and Morlan was found dead.
“I can’t look back for a single second and say that I would take back anything, or that I wish anything had been better”, she says. The couple sat on their sofa and made up amusing lyrics about their black cat, Salem, to the tune of “Santa Baby”, replacing it with “Salem Baby” and laughing and joking while cuddling on their couch.
“He blew me a kiss, and said ‘I’ll talk to you soon, ‘ and he walked out”.
His family said duck hunting was one of Craig’s favorite things to do.
