September 20, 2014: Illinois Fighting Illini running back Josh Ferguson (6) is pursued by Texas State Bobcats defensive tackle Will Trevillion (53) during the game between the Illinois Fighting Illini and the Texas State Bobcats at Memorial Stadium in Champaign, IL.
Texas State announced that redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Will Trevillion has died. Trevillion played for the Hays High School Rebels.
The circumstances for his death were not immediately known.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Will Trevillion.
Trevillion passed away on the same day Texas State named Everett Withers as Franchione’s replacement. “The world lost an wonderful young man today”, the school said in a statement released on the football team’s Twitter account.
Trevillion was working toward a degree in health and fitness management.
He was redshirted in 2013 after playing in just two games. Texas State improved to 7-5 overall, 2-0 in the conference. Kavin Gilber-Tilbury led the Bobcats with 15 points and eight rebounds, but Texas State (7-4, 1-1) scored only 16 points in the first half.
