Playing Tabu’s daughter was hard, says Katrina
Sources reveal that looking at the glimpses from the trailer, the look of Tabu in the film is also inspired by Rekha.
First track “Yeh Fitoor Mera” is a soulful track featuring skills of “Noor” as an painter and craftsman played by Aditya Roy Kapoor and his lady love “Firdaus” who is his childhood love portrayed by Katrina Kaif. The director has maintained silence over this uncomfortable topic for quite some time, but opened up to us to clear the air once and for all in an article in Bollywood Life.
Fitoor’s trailer showcases shades of grey possessed by the actress in the film, Tabu hinted about shades of her personal life too at the event. And we just shot 2-3 days with Rekha ji and we understood that this might not be the right film for us to collaborate on. “She is a phenomenal actress so, whenever you are in front of her, you should remember you should not get lost in her performance but, to contribute to it. We have been fortunate she was gracious enough to step in”, added Kaif. She would not stand up and say something to safeguard her own interest. Speaking about Tabu’s role in Fitoor, Katrina shared, “For me, the most important thing was to try and understand this girl’s [her character’s] mind”.
Young Noor falls in love with the Begum’s daughter, Firdaus – a lovely child who has been raised to break hearts. Rekha realised the similarities between the character and her real life as the film progressed and so chose to opt out of the film.
