Slash and Duff McKagan rejoin Guns N’ Roses for Coachella
Coachella will also feature the also-reuniting LCD Soundsystem on both Friday nights, April 15 and 22.
“Following the group’s 1985 formation, Guns N’ Roses injected unbridled, unrivalled, and unstoppable attitude into the burgeoning Los Angeles rock scene. You’re in the jungle, baby”, from the band’s track Welcome To The Jungle.
After a year of waiting and endless speculation, the official lineup for Coachella 2016 has been revealed – and it has basically everything we wanted.
Interesting that there’s no mention of Matt Sorum, who took over drum duties from Adler while Slash and McKagan were still in the band.
Get ready, festival fans – the 2016 Coachella lineup has arrived.
Last night, Guns N’ Roses confirmed their appearance at the high-profile music festival for April 16 and 23. The spirit went on to captivate the entire world with the release of their 1987 debut Appetite for Destruction -the best-selling USA debut ever, moving 30 million copies globally.
LCD Soundsystem hasn’t appeared on stage since its 2011 farewell show at Madison Square Garden.
Five years later, on Christmas Eve, the band released their first new song since the split – titled Christmas Will Break Your Heart. Scottish DJ and Taylor Swift’s special friend Calvin Harris will be headlining the third day of the festival.
Other performers include Ellie Goulding, Sufjan Stevens, Ice Cube, Sia, Major Lazer, Lord Huron, the Damned, Underworld, Foals, the Kills, Zedd, Halsey, James Bay, the 1975, Rancid and many, many more. The 2015 headliners were Australian hard rock veterans AC/DC, garage rocker Jack White and chart-topping Toronto rapper Drake.
