Stephen Curry Injury Might Render Him Out Of Playoffs?
The lingering injury was first reported in December, which caused the reigning regular season MVP to miss two games.
He wore shin guards on both legs during shootaround, but Curry walked around the pregame locker room in just one pad, which covered his injured left leg.
Klay Thompson believes the Golden State Warriors would still be undefeated if they hadn’t had to deal with some injuries. Reports originally said that it would take four weeks for his shin to heal, but the league MVP wasn’t about to sit on the bench for that long.
Since Curry’s quickness allows him to torch defenders off the dribble and dart around screens for open three-pointers, the potential for even a brief disruption Friday night is worth watching.
Stephen Curry (shin) was a full participant during Thursday’s practice, and interim head coach Luke Walton said the he expects Steph to start Friday vs. Portland. “I’ll have to bring out kind of my Messi kind of mindset tonight”.
Figuring out how much rest is needed can be tricky for Curry and the Warriors.
In a statement acquired by ESPN’s Ethan Sherwood Strauss, Stephen Curry was quoted saying, “It’s just frustrating and annoying and any other adjective you want to throw in there. It doesn’t get worse if I play on it, unless I get kicked, and that’s happened three times since I did it, so hopefully it won’t keep happening again”. You can’t do that if Curry isn’t 100 percent. If so, it’s possible the defending champions could make their playoff run without Curry. That said, at this point it does not appear that the Warriors will plan on deploying him in any sort of reduced role.
