North Korea H-bomb test worries Dhaka
South Korea declared Thursday that it would resume cross-border anti-North Korea propaganda broadcasts, a tactic that led the two neighbors to the brink of war when it was used a year ago. Pyongyang is extremely sensitive to any outside criticism of the authoritarian leadership of Kim, the third member of his family to rule.
The South stopped earlier broadcasts after it agreed with Pyongyang in late August on a package of measures aimed at easing animosities were among a variety of punitive measures being considered. South Korea’s Defense Ministry couldn’t confirm the reports.
It is unclear whether Kim, whose birthday is also believed to be Friday, attended the celebrations.

In the past, the broadcasts typically blared messages about alleged North Korean government mismanagement, human rights conditions, and the superiority of South Korean-style democracy, as well as world news and weather forecasts. “Of course they cheated on that agreement, so we made the wrong move”, he told CNN, calling for a similar approach on sanctions again to restrict the North’s ability to fund its weapons programs.
The upper house resolution demanded that North Korea abandon all its nuclear programs, accept inspection by the International Atomic Energy Agency and take steps to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula.
