Top Apple Supplier Cuts Hours As iPhone Fears Rattle Investors
A new report coming in from China suggests that the Cupertino giant may be looking to cram a larger battery in the yet-to-be-announced iPhone 7 Plus.
According to MyDrivers and as reported on by Mac Rumors, the iPhone 7 Plus might feature as much as 256 GB of internal storage.
In a sign that Apple’s days of printing its own tax-free money are over after people decided not to buy its iPhone 6s.
In late December we posted a report titled “Two Brokers Cut Apple Price Targets over “Supply Chain Checks” showing Slower iPhone 6s Sales”.
Introducing a 256GB inbuilt storage variant might make sense for Apple as the iPhone models can now click images in higher-resolution than before and can record 4K videos as well.
Among LCD panel makers, Japan Display fell 4.7 percent, while LG Display fell 3.4 percent.
Wall Street has also tempered its view on the high-flying stock in recent months. Since early December, their estimates have been cut by about a third of the analysts monitored by Thomson Reuters. For fiscal 2016, Apple is now expected, on average, to grow revenue by under 4 percent, a far cry from the 28 percent revenue expansion it achieved in the fiscal year that ended last September. But a thirty percent cut is an abnormally large production cut…
The cut is expected to be temporary, with production resuming at normal levels in the April to June quarter, the newspaper said.
“I don’t see any competitive issues as Apple is gaining or maintaining market share and the macro-economic conditions haven’t significantly changed, either”, Moorhead told us.
Suppliers that provide Apple with parts for the iPhone have reported scaled-back orders, which has led multiple investment firms to the conclusion that production of the smartphones will decrease.
