Bush elaborates on why he thinks Trump is a jerk
Jeb Bush (R) on Wednesday laid out exactly why he thinks GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump is a “jerk”.
“If Trump were the last man on Earth, I wouldn’t vote for him”, said Johnson. Bush finished in fifth place with 10 percent, behind New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (11 percent) and Ohio Gov. John Kasich (11 percent), and tied with Texas U.S. Sen.
“I respect the emotion he talked about yesterday”, Bush said.
“I like the fact that he is not embarrassed about his success”, he said. He added, “I like, to a limit, that he is politically incorrect, because we are way too uptight”.
“That’s why I called him a jerk, because he disparaged a person who he knew had a disability and made fun of him”.
Candidates have taken to visiting a peer-recovery center in Manchester, attending drug roundtables at local hospitals and sharing stories they hear on the trail from New Hampshire voters battling addiction.
“Go back and rewind the tape and watch what Donald Trump said about the nuclear triad and you tell me if he’s qualified to be president of the United States”, said Bush.
“I believe people in New Hampshire, most particularly, are going to say, ‘Hey … we actually make the candidates walk over the hot coals”.
“I think we have the best volunteers with the greatest commitment and greatest record, and get the candidate a little better, I think we’ll be in good shape”, Bush said when asked about his chances of finishing second.
“Do you want a president who disparages women?”
After Bush blasted Trump’s “lack of seriousness” on national security issues, Hewitt asked Bush if he’d support and campaign for Trump if Trump wins the nomination.
Jeb Bush, in need of a boost in the New Hampshire polls as the state’s first-in-the-nation primary quickly approaches, acknowledged a potentially key endorsement when he arrived to speak at Church Landing at Mill Falls Wednesday night.
Responding to a question from a potential Trump supporter at town-hall event in New Hampshire, Bush said he called Trump a jerk after Trump appeared to mock the physical disability of New York Times journalist Serge Kovaleski in November.
