Country singer Daron Norwood found dead in Hereford apartment
His landlord let himself in to Norwood’s apartment in Hereford, Texas, 40 miles Southwest of Amarillo, on Wednesday (July 22) to check on the singer, and found his body in his bedroom. Norwood walked away from his music career at the height of his success in 1995, admitting that he was battling extreme alcoholism.

Per E! News, Police Chief Brant Harrison says that officers and medical personnel responded to a call about an unresponsive individual around 2 p.m. yesterday.
Hereford police spokesman Capt. Kirsten Williams said Thursday that investigators do not suspect foul play in Norwood’s death.
According to a story in the Fort Worth Star Telegram newspaper, Norwood was last seen alive Tuesday night and that his landlord discovered the body. How sad. At 49, he was still very young! His hit songs included “If It Wasn’t for Her I Wouldn’t Have You” and “Cowboys Don’t Cry”, both of which landed in the Top 30 on the country charts.
