Alcatel Onetouch unveils new PIXI 4 products
Among the variety of devices the company plans to bring to the annual consumer tech show, leading its 2016 device lineup is the revamped Pixi family of entry-level smartphones.
The slate sports an 8-inch capacitive touchscreen display, but aside from that we don’t know anything about the Pixi 3’s specs sheet. It offers customization through Color Skins and Flip Stand covers. Surprisingly, the one device that will certainly catch consumers attention will be the 8-inch PIXI 3 tablet which runs on Windows 10 Mobile instead of Android.
Alcatel OneTouch has recently teased some of its forthcoming devices, a day ahead of the CES 2016 event scheduled to kick off in Las Vegas this week.
Pricing and availability for the Pixi 3 hasn’t yet been revealed although we’ll likely learn more about it at CES. Actually, the company already announced the new additions to the PIXI 4 line which includes mobile devices in different sizes: 3.5-inch and 4-inch smartphones, 6-inch phone-tablet (phablet), and a 7-inch tablet. Other features include a TV remote control, voice-call enablement, GPS, and front and rear cameras. Once again, specs for the devices have not been given. Alcatel also announced the CareTime Children’s Watch. The devices are described as being premium entry-level products. This will enable parents to keep in contact with their kids and call or send voice messages to the CareTime watch. A companion app, compatible with iOS 7 and above and Android 4.3 and above, notifies parents if their kids enter or leave a predetermined safe zone. The watch’s battery is said to last for four days. The watch will be available in Europe and Latin America in April.
