Obama Answers To Chicagoans Worried About Gun Violence

The meeting, held at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, featured a direct audience questioning Obama on his controversial executive actions aimed at curbing gun violence. In short, that’s because the conditions he is changing by executive action are murkier than he made them out to be.

“It’s easier to get a gun in my neighborhood than it is a computer”, Pfleger said. And so what we’re saying is, ‘You know what?

House Speaker Paul Ryan, referring to the provision of the Constitution that confers the right of individuals to have firearms, said Thursday that Obama “is frustrating the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens”. Of late more than a million bullets illegally imported into the country have been seized by the police in Ghana while some people have suffered gun shots in some parts if the country.

But instead, if we can give people hope and say also during this time while you’ve been president, we are at the lowest murder rate in our country – all-time low murders.

She added: “I know that background checks aren’t going to stop me from getting a gun”. The American people quite frankly do not believe that they are sufficiently protected, and they’re buying guns.

At Greenwood Guns & Gear, owner Jared Davis said the sales may be good for stores, but can be bad for gun owners overall. Right? I come from the state of Illinois, which, we’ve been talking about Chicago but Downstate Illinois is closer to Kentucky than it is to Chicago, and everybody hunts down there, and a lot of folks own guns, and so this is not like alien territory to me. If another Democrat takes office, Congress will take more action, he said.

Obama’s executive actions would include a new restriction on buyers who purchase weapons through legal entities or trusts, requiring that these buyers be subject to a background check.

Eventually, Cooper’s weird line of questioning affords Obama the opportunity to point out that he’s had a long time to put this supposed “grab everyone’s guns” plan into effect and has thus far failed to demonstrate any desire to do so. The effort was launched after the San Bernardino, Calif., attack that killed 14 in December.

Lest we forget the Obama administration’s gun-running program across the border to Mexico supplied weapons to drug cartel members in a botched sting operation. There were a bunch of people looking out for me and there weren’t a lot of guns on the streets.
