Body of missing country singer recovered from Oklahoma lake
Strickland and his friend Chase Morland went hunting during a massive winter storm on December 27.
“We can finally rest knowing that he is at home in Heaven with his Father”, Wisner said on Instagram.
“Thank you Lord for leading us to him today. I will praise you, Amen”, she wrote.
Their boat capsized and Strickland was able to swim to land, but he succumbed to the elements.
For now, fans and loved ones are left to mourn the singer, who shot to fame on the country music charts as a member of Backroad Anthem.
OHP Marine Enforcement troopers and other searchers returned to the command station at Bear Creek Cove after recovering missing hunter, Craig Strickland.
The two friends were last seen over the weekend before departing on their duck-hunting trip, which may have been star-crossed from the outset. A search party began looking for them that night, and Morland’s body was found the following day. His body was found in the original search area of Kaw Lake in Oklahoma. The body of Morland, 22, of Van Buren, Ark., was recovered December 28. At the same time, the band posted a picture to their Facebook account by Kaw Lake with the words “hopeful today”. “We knew he was the person for the job”. He will dependably arrive to guide us along the way.
The severe weather in Oklahoma, which included heavy rains and flooding, is blamed for five deaths and almost 100 injuries.
Craig Strickland’s band, Byway Song of devotion, is paying tribute to their lead artist after the 29-year-old was discovered dead before today taking after a chasing trip. “We cherish you Craig Strickland and we will perpetually miss you!”
We wish the singer and his family the best during this hard time.
