Woman raped by five men in New York City park, police say
Police released surveillance footage on Saturday taken from a nearby bodega that showed the five men who NYPD believed raped the teen, according to KTLA sister station WPIX.
Police are looking for five men they say each took turns raping a teenager inside a Brooklyn park last week.
The 18-year-old woman was accosted just after 9 p.m. Thursday as the two walked inside Osborn Playground in Brooklyn, New York. The father complied and that’s when police said all five men raped the woman.
One of the suspects pulled a gun and ordered the victim’s friend to leave the playground, officials said.
Her father returned to the park with two uniformed officers and the five suspects fled.
The victim was treated at Kings County Hospital. The man with the gun was heavyset and wearing a red jacket and black trousers at the time.
‘How can [police] wonder how stuff like this happens, and then when it gets dark they’re not here?’ one woman told the Daily News.
The authorities are requesting that anyone with information related to the crime call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline (800-577-TIPS). All calls are kept confidential.
