Bland voicemail from jail expresses disbelief
Bland was in jail waiting to post bond when she was found.
Bland was arrested on July 10 after a traffic stop. She screams that he’s about to break her wrists and complains that he knocked her head into the ground. “That’s ask. He asked her and she simply responded, ‘No I don’t have to put my cigarette out I’m in my own auto.'”.
Meanwhile Tuesday, family members attended a memorial service for Bland in the chapel on the campus of Prairie View A&M University, Bland’s alma mater.
The department says the video hasn’t been edited, but says there were technical glitches as a result of uploading the video. Sheriff Smith said that jailers had elected not to place a suicide watch on her cell after she told them that she was not depressed at the time, but was just raging about her detention.
New surveillence video has been released showing the last minutes of Sandra Bland’s life behind bars in the Waller County jail.
But the documents also contain discrepancies. “Whatever the ultimate determination may be, whether that’s a suicide or a homicide, that will ultimately be decided by a grand jury”.
But in another document, Bland, circled “no” when asked if she was now on any medication and later checked “yes” to the same question in a third document.
Ms. Bland, an African-American woman, was arrested on July 10 for a “combative” response to an officer during a routine traffic stop. The full medical examiner’s report has been completed, but not yet released. LaVaughn Mosley, a family friend, confirmed to the Guardian that she was epileptic.
“That’s going to depend upon the local mental health authority and the resources that they have”, Brian Wood, executive director of the Texas Commission on Jail Standards told The Washington Post.
Meanwhile, a friend of Bland’s released audio of a voicemail message he received from her the day after her arrest: “Hey, this is me. Numerous commands were given to Bland ordering her to exit the vehicle”.
Dashboard video from a trooper’s patrol vehicle shows the traffic stop that led to the arrest of Sandra Bland.
Her death was originally ruled a suicide, although officials have said they are handling it as a murder probe.
“This happened because an officer was overzealous”, said Cannon Lambert, the family’s attorney.

After he hands her a written warning, the trooper remarks that Bland seems irritated.
“My goal is to go back to Texas”, said Reed-Veal about Bland.
Waller County Sheriff Glenn Smith revealed Wednesday that Bland had told a guard about a prior attempt to kill herself, apparently prompted by a miscarriage.
He said the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been given hard drives to determine if there’s been any manipulation. This call was one of three that Bland made Saturday afternoon after she appeared in court, Waller County Judge Trey Duhon, told ABC News. Three days later, she was discovered dead in her jail cell. That officer was assigned to administrative duties for the duration of the investigation.
The death of Sandra Bland has raised questions from her family and others who don’t believe the 28-year-old who had recently gotten a new job would have hanged herself at the Waller County Jail on July 13.
During the arrest, the Texan police officer can be heard threatening Sandra that he will “light her up” or taser her if she doesn’t comply. Bland questioned.
Encinia also wrote that Bland “was placed under arrest for Assault on a Public Servant”.
