Powerball winners in Hampton and Suffolk
The Virginia Lottery reports a $1 million dollar winning ticket was bought at Convenience on the Go located at 1441 Holland Road in Suffolk.
The two $50,000 tickets in Randolph County were sold at the Kangaroo Express on East Swannanoa Avenue in Liberty and Han-Dee Hugo’s on USA 220 Business North in Randleman. The next Powerball drawing will be at 10:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13.
While no one took home the $900 million jackpot in Saturday night’s Powerball drawing, someone in the Tampa Bay area is $1 million richer for playing. The jackpot now rolls over to $1.3 billion – the largest prize in US lottery history – with the drawing scheduled for Wednesday.
Last year, the store sold a $1 million ticket.
There was no jackpot victor in Saturday’s $949-million Powerball drawing.
Ticket sales nationally shot the prize up by more than $49.8 million on Saturday alone. The Jackpot is secured when all five white balls are matched, as well as the red Powerball number.
Powerball is sold in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
