Guardiola would fit in at any club – Hiddink
Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller believes Pep Guardiola is eager to finish his spell at the Allianz Arena on a high before he leaves Bavaria at the end of the season.
MANCHESTER, England (AP) – Some Premier League coaches may be sitting uncomfortably following Pep Guardiola’s announcement that he wants to work in England next.
“I’d like to see Pep take a club that is eighth or ninth and make them champions. I have several offers from England, but I haven’t signed anything yet”, he said.
“I think that it is very good he wants to do that and I don’t think it will interfere in his club now”. “Like I’m often told, you shouldn’t worry too much about Africa, because Africa will be the first to let you down”.
However, Guardiola denied he has put pen to paper on any deal with Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea all understood to be fighting for his signature.
The former Barcelona chief has upset many in the game by declaring he wants his next job to be in the Premier League.
Asked if he would recommend Guardiola take over the reins at Chelsea following his departure, Hiddink said: “He has shown in a very fast career – from the second team in Barcelona – that he’s capable of managing a team very well”.
Gerrard left the English Premier League side for the Los Angeles Galaxy previous year, and has been training on Merseyside during the MLS close season.
“I have an opportunity to work in England”, Guardiola said. Wenger’s squad is configured to play the kind of sharp, passing football that Guardiola loves and the Catalan has spoken admiringly of Arsenal in the past, saying that they “always play in a good style”.
Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal could all be potential employers for the former Barcelona boss.
“I think Guardiola will be a success wherever he goes”. While Louis van Gaal’s position at Old Trafford is supposedly under scrutiny, United seem committed to giving the current regime every chance to turn things around. However, he actually hasn’t won the Champions League crown with the team, falling short in the semi-finals for two separate occasions.
“I will give my absolute best until the end”.
