Lewis would flash brilliance at times during the next two seasons, but his production and playing time weren’t always consistent under head coach James Franklin. “We are very proud to see him leave Penn State with his degree in hand and wish him the best of luck”.
Lewis, who graduated from Penn State and will be able to play for the Sooners right away, transfers from a Penn State team that has a deep receiving corps of scholarship players. In particular, his touchdown catches against Maryland and Georgia were top plays on the season.
“The last four years have been an incredible ride and I wouldn’t change anything”, he said.
Lewis hinted at his decision following the TaxSlayer Bowl, in which he caught a fourth-quarter touchdown pass. The receiver noted that Penn State has “so many receivers”, including young players such as DaeSean Hamilton, Chris Godwin, Saeed Blacknall and Brandon Polk. “To all my teammates, I just want to say, from the sanctions to now, I wouldn’t want to go through all of that with any other group”.
