Honda Civic is 2-time winner for car of the year
“By then, the all-new XC90 will be the oldest vehicle in the showroom”, said Lex Kerssemakers, President and CEO of Volvo auto USA.
Civic earned 203 points from a 53-member jury made up of Canadian and American journalists to beat out the Chevrolet Malibu (181 points) and Mazda’s MX-5 (146).
The new truck will be built at Honda’s plant in Lincoln, Alabama, alongside the Pilot SUV. The awards are quite unique in the United States because they aren’t given out by a single media outlet. The 10th generation Civic represents a “from the ground up” remake, whose other notable feature was its global launch last fall at Honda of Canada Mfg in Alliston.
As such, comfort will be a big focus and Honda says the new truck will offer the most cabin space in its segment along with a split-folding rear seat and under seat storage that give it “the most versatile packaging in the segment”. As ever Volvo deliver a world class safety system as standard in the XC90.
