Reticulated python bites Chinese woman’s nose at Phuket snake show
Video posted online shows the serpent surging up into the air, locking its jaws onto the woman’s nose and refusing to let go.
The 29-year-old was visiting an animal park located next to the Phuket Zoo on Soi Palai in Chanlog, the Phuket News reported, when she leaned in to kiss the snake.
The python, a non-venomous snake, is understood to be a regular part of a tourist attraction snake show held by the Phuket Biotechnology Institute in Chalong.
The incident reportedly happened on January 9, leaving the woman with five stitches on her nose. The woman, who received stitches on her nose after the incident, has been released from hospital.
According to The Phuket News, Pa-wai Odski, the company that runs the snake show, paid the tourist £2,200 (around Rs 2.1 lakh) in damages.
After the show the snake handler offered tourists the opportunity to have their pictures taken with a python, a non-poisonous snake.
