“The Revenant” Wins Big at Golden Globe 2016

The veteran actor is still Oscar-less after winning the Golden Globe for best actor for his role in the The Revenant, and several publications are predicting this is the role that’ll finally earn him an Oscar as well.

“I have made a lot of movies that people just didn’t go see”, Damon said, adding he was glad that people liked “The Martian”, whose boxoffice collections reached almost $600 million. “Shes amusing and hilarious and will win many things.”.

The victories for the two films at the Globes put them in prime position as Hollywood’s annual awards season heats up, leading to the all-important Oscars on February 28.

Tom Hanks also presented Denzel Washington the Cecil B. Demille award.

Sylvester Stallone knocked out some heavyweight competition, too, in the supporting actor category with a win for “Creed, ” beating out Idris Elba (“Beasts of No Nation”), Michael Shannon (“99 Homes”), Mark Rylance (“Bridge of Spies”), and Paul Dano (“Love & Mercy”). Awards favorite Spotlight didn’t win anything.
