Bengals LB Burfict Suspended for First 3 Games Next Season

The NFL is suspending star linebacker Vontaze Burfict for the first three games of the 2016 NFL season for “repeated violations of safety-related playing rules”.

As fate would have it, Burfict’s 15-yard penalty and Jones’ 15-yarder for poor conduct set up the Steelers’ eventual game-winning field goal. His presence obviously perturbed Bengals defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry and cornerback Adam Jones with the latter receiving a crucial personal foul penalty after trying to go after the Steelers coach after the former purposely bumped into him from behind.

The NFL noted that Burfict had already been fined four times for risky hits on players during the season.

However, it doesn’t look as if Burfict will be around for the start of next season, as he was suspended Monday for the first three games.

Stewart, who missed that game because of a hamstring injury, said the Broncos will be smart on the field Sunday when they play host to the Steelers in a divisional playoff game.

“Unfortunately, I think sometimes we earn some reputations and we’ve got to eliminate that by continuing to play well within the rules the way he plays”, Lewis said of the attention Burfict receives from officials.

Part of Jones evidence for his claim was an alleged wink that Brown gave before leaving the field following the hit.

While players and coaches milled around on the field, Jones went after Pittsburgh assistant coach Joey Porter and drew another penalty.

Jones said Brown “deserves a Grammy” for his acting performance, which suggests he’s unfamiliar with the movie industry as a whole.

Guenther went on to say that he’s approached Porter before about him not talking to his players.

Burfict was penalized 15 yards for unnecessary roughness and faces a possible suspension and/or fine for the hit. “I know they’ve won a lot of road games this year and they’ve found a way to win close games”.
