The full game footage was long thought to be lost to history, but NFL Films was able to piece together the entire game, play-by-play, through diligent editing and sleuth work, NBC Sports reports.
The telecast of Super Bowl I, a broadcasting artifact, will be unveiled for the first time since its original airing thanks to the NFL Network. The game originally aired in 1967 on both CBS and NBC. Audio was added from the NBC Sports radio broadcast featuring Jim Simpson and George Ratterman, which wasn’t lost.
