The clip was revealed on the official “X-Files” site DoYouStillBelieve and features Fox Mulder recounting his past misadventures and misfortunes.
Following the almost two dozen stills from the show that hit the web earlier, Fox has posted the first minute of the premiere X-Files episode, titled “My Struggle”, online here.
A burning, painful trip willed with monsters and alien abduction… Through O’Malley they are introduced to SVETA (guest star Annett Mahendru), a possible alien abductee who shares shocking information with them that will challenge everything that Mulder has ever believed about the existence of aliens and the government’s role in covering them up. In 1993, the Federal Bureau of Investigation saw to impugn my work, bringing in a scientist and medical doctor to debunk it, which only deepened my obsession for the better part of a decade, during which time that agent, Dana Scully, had her own faith tested.
The two-night season premiere of The X-Files airs on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 10 p.m. EST following the NFC Championship Game, and on Monday, Jan. 25 at 8 p.m. EST on Fox. However, Mulder notes that his personal obsession did not end when the cases did.
The minute is surprisingly spoiler-free, unless you haven’t seen the old series and also have absolutely no idea what it’s about, because it all centers around David Duchovny giving a (very) abridged synopsis of the original show’s story via voiceover.
