Barcelona and Real Madrid dominate FIFPro World XI
Neymar wearing a Real Madrid shirt could be a possibility in the future, according to compatriot Roberto Carlos.
The team was selected in a 4-3-3 formation, and features Manuel Neuer, Dani Alves, Sergio Ramos, Thiago Silva, Marcelo, Andres Iniesta, Luka Modric, Paul Pogba, Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Finally, the lack of representatives from the Premier League won’t sit well with fans of that league.
Barcelona striker Neymar, Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric and Juventus star Paul Pogba are named to the team for the first time, but Barca’s Luis Suarez is still waiting for a debut selection, as is Madrid duo Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez.
“I am sure next year he will finish even higher in the Ballon d’Or. It’s hard to be a Director of Football, I’d rather work with Zidane, help him and also learn from him”, he added.
Another member of that 2002 triumph at Hampden Park where Madrid defeated Bayer Leverkusen 2-1, was current Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, who famously scored an outrageous volley from outside the area – set up by Roberto Carlos.
“I had a meeting with Real Madrid about my future with the club”, he said.
“It would be an honour to work with the club, we should know how [we will] collaborate [with Zidane’s Madrid] on Friday”.
