Jesse Eisenberg Is a Stoned Sleeper Agent in ‘American Ultra’ Trailer

Lionsgate Eisenberg worked as a convenient store clerk before being activated as an unassuming agent in “American Ultra”. But at least, as this new American Ultra trailer shows, all the violence also gives them the opportunity to enjoy a romantic bit of couples tazing.

In the upcoming American Ultra, Jesse Eisenberg plays a stoner Jason Bourne, a gas station cashier who is secretly a government superspy.

Before building the façade of a sleepy stoner and relocating to a breezy town, he worked as a ruthless Central Intelligence Agency sleeper agent trained in the art of silent killing, so his survival and fighting skills are unparalleled.

Amusingly, the only time Eisenberg is even remotely compromised in the full-duty trailer is after he and Stewart get shocked by a police-style Taser.

American Ultra is set for release August 21st in the States and August 28th in the United Kingdom, and features a cast that also includes Connie Britton, Topher Grace, John Leguizamo, Bill Pullman, Walton Goggins and Tony Hale.

Nima Nourizadeh (Project X) directs this one, which was written by Max Landis (Chronicle), whose tweaked sense of humor seems to be all over the movie.
