Amazon Prime Offers 20 Percent Discount On Pre-Orders And New Releases
You can save 20% off new physical video games during pre-order through two weeks after release. Amazon Prime members can now save a whopping 20% on games like Crackdown 3, Gears of War 4, and ReCore for the Xbox One, along with games for other platforms. The discount itself doesn’t apply until checkout, so you’ll see the normal price on the game’s store page until you move into the checkout phase, where the discount will take effect.
In an effort to stay competitive with Best Buy’s very successful GCU pre-order program, Amazon is now offering the majority of pre-orders for $47.99 (Reg. $59.99) for Prime Members!
It’s been a while since the online retailer made video game headlines, as things have been relatively quiet for the company since Amazon acquired Twitch for $970 million a year and a half ago.
That relationship should continue to improve on its already amiable nature, too, as the new Prime discount appears to be a permanent new addition to the subscription-based service and not just a limited time offer to spark interest from gamers after the holiday rush.
Amazon is making it cheaper for Prime members to play the latest video games.
This is a great deal for Prime members that want to lock down some pre-orders, especially with Amazon not charging at all until shipping. That guarantee ensures that if the price of a game goes down after you pre-order it (and before it launches) that you will automatically pay the lower price.
